Come on A Creative Retreat With Me

Two Summer Workshops, Two Inspiring Locations — Join Me for a Creative Adventure This July

This summer is shaping up to be a season of creativity, connection, and meaningful making—and I’m so excited to invite you into it.

I’ll be teaching not one, but two immersive, garment-focused workshops in July, each set in a truly beautiful location. Whether you’re looking to deepen your sewing practice, reconnect with your creativity, or simply spend time making something with your hands, these experiences are designed to support and inspire you.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s ahead.

Estelle Center for Creative Arts — La Veta, Colorado July 13-17
Make the Fabric, Make the Garment with Bianca Springer and Stephanie Ruyle of Spontaneous Threads

I’ll be heading to the mountains of Colorado for a workshop that’s especially close to my heart. I’ll be co-teaching with the incredibly talented Stephanie Ruyle, and together we’ll guide you through a creative process that blends improv piecing with intuitive garment design.
In this workshop, you’ll:

* Create your own unique textile using improvisational piecing
* Play with color, texture, and composition in an open, exploratory way
* Allow your handmade fabric to inform and inspire you as you make your final garment using Simplicity 9271* Learn to read sewing patterns to build your wardrobe
* Learn to cut patterns, fabric and understand body measurements
* Practice trusting your creative instincts and embracing experimentation
* Work in a space that celebrates individuality, storytelling, and joyful making
This experience is about letting go of expectations and discovering what unfolds when you allow the process to lead. To help you find creative inspiration, Stephanie has curated  fabric bundles that can be purchased here.

Madeline Island School of the Arts — Wisconsin July 20-24
Retazo Coat Workshop
There’s something undeniably magical about Madeline Island in the summertime and I am so excited to return for another year of teaching. The incredible location creates the perfect environment to slow down and fully immerse yourself in the making process.

In this workshop, we’ll be sewing the Retazo Coat and Vest by Sew Liberated—a design that balances structure, comfort, and expressive style.
Whether you’re newer to garment sewing or ready to refine your skills, this experience offers:

* Thoughtful guidance on fit, construction, and finishing techniques
* Opportunities to explore fabric combinations and develop your personal style
* A chance to learn one of three quilt coat techniques
* A supportive, welcoming environment where curiosity and creativity are encouraged
* Dedicated time to slow down and enjoy the process of making
* Learn to make the added hood option

You’ll leave not only with a beautiful, wearable garment, but with renewed confidence to continue your sewing journey.
